Mars Shinshu was established in 1949 but began whisky production in 1985 after setting up its distillery in the Japanese Alps.
Iwai is a blend primarily composed of corn with a touch of malted barley, aged exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels. This whisky has a rich golden hue and delicate aromas of sweetness and florals, with hints of dark cacao and ripe pear. Its smooth texture carries nuanced flavours of allspice and dried fig, developed through maturation in sherry, bourbon, and American oak casks.
